Much of our activity has been focused towards developing and managing the "LifeStraw®" campaign. The opportunity of having a chance to save a life by helping provide fresh water has caught the imagination of many people, not just here in Menorca, but as far away as the US and across Europe.
We have received promises of support from other Rotary Clubs, including Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and have been contacted by a young lady in the US, Sarah Boyd, who hearing of our project is interested in adopting it as their school's international service project.
We are especially touched by the many small donations from children, elderly and people of limited means.... all wanting to give something to bring relief and very possibly, save a life.
One example is of six-year-old Olivia Sturgeon who used all the money from her piggy bank to buy LifeStraw® water purifiers online.
